POSTED: January 14, 2025 * Lakeview Garden Club Update! * After school, Jaylen and Ava explored the fascinating world of houseplants at Lakeview Garden Club, sponsored by the amazing Mrs. Lynn Studebaker! They learned about a variety of propagation techniques, including soil propagation and water propagation, while also diving into the basics of houseplant care. Our budding botanists are now conducting an exciting experiment to determine which propagation method—soil or water—will lead to faster root growth. The results of their hands-on learning will help shape their understanding of plant care and the science behind propagation. Big thanks to Mrs. Studebaker for inspiring our students to grow their knowledge, one plant at a time! Stay tuned for updates on their experiment and progress! #LakeviewGardenClub #StudentExplorers #HandsOnLearning #PlantPropagation #GrowWithUs #LakeviewInspires #WarsawInspires

Posted: January 13, 2025 Greetings, Our apologies for the late notice. We posted this last week, but some parents were not able to see it. Please pay special attention to the Academic Showcase for 8th graders at the HS on Thursday (1/16). Tomorrow (1/14/25), the high school counselors will be at LMS to present to 8th grade students important information about scheduling for high school and the new diploma requirements. On Thursday (1/16/25), you and your student will have the opportunity to visit the high school to learn more about the classes offered and diploma requirements. There will be a 20 minute minute video (on loop) in the auditorium for 8th grade parents about high school. Please see the attached flyer from the high school. Then, students will be able to input their course selections into the PowerSchool Portal. Once selections have been inputted, course selection sheets can be turned into the main office at Lakeview. On February 13th, each 8th grader will meet individually with a high school counselor during their science class to review their selections. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Day. #LakeviewInspires #WarsawInspires

POSTED: December 20, 2024 🎄 A huge thank-you to former Lakeview Tech, Mrs. Jean Beeson, for wrapping up this semester with the gift of sewing—and for teaching our students to sew with a purpose...or should we say, a "PAW-pose!" These talented students crafted and donated adorable kerchiefs that have been gifted to our local Animal Welfare League and even to BRUNO—Mr. Nathan Patterson's four-legged bestie and official Science sidekick. This holiday season, we're reminded that generosity comes in many forms—like tiny stitches that warm hearts (and furry necks). Merry Christmas to all who helped make this project a success! #LakeviewInspires #WCSInspires #WarsawInspires #SewMuchLove #BrunoApproved

POSTED: December 13, 2024 Lakeview Middle School came together in the most magical way to celebrate a beloved tradition—our unforgettable Christmas Luncheon!A huge thank-you to Nicole Jackson and our incredible Food Service Professionals, who outdid themselves preparing a delicious feast of ham, potatoes, green beans, dinner rolls, and a festive Christmas tree dessert. Each meal was perfectly complemented by black placemats, wrapped silverware with a candy cane tucked in, and a refreshing bonus apple juice. We are so grateful to Wildman for donating the beautiful linen tablecloths that set the stage for this special day. A big thank you to our amazing custodial team too! A massive shoutout to PTO President Jeri Purdy, our event specialist extraordinaire, and her team of dedicated volunteers who transformed our space with lit garlands, nearly 100 e-candles, and stunning gold, red, and black ornaments adorning the tablescape. The twinkling ceiling lights, hung by the amazing Mrs. Cooksey, paired beautifully with her wireless speaker playing cheerful holiday music, creating a warm, festive atmosphere. Special recognition to Gloria Reichard, our talented ML paraprofessional and resident artist, for her gorgeous window artwork, brought to life with the help of her student assistants. We also owe thanks to Rebecca and Conrad, who laid 26 white linens on the tables with such care and precision. Guest servers, including Jean Beeson, Mark McCollom, Emily Day, Janet Kinney, Laura Biltz, Gracie Pletcher, and Judy Timmons, brought smiles and holiday cheer to everyone they served. Their support truly exemplified the spirit of community. Behind the scenes, Principal Todd Braddock and Assistant Principal Michele White kept everything running smoothly, all while helping to rally the excitement for our ongoing Penny Wars challenge (Thank you April Boggs & WACCY WELDERS) Mr. Braddock shared, "My favorite moment came from 7th grade lunch today. 'Mr. Braddock, this is like eating at a 5 star restaurant!'" Amanda Scroggs, our District Librarian, delighted in capturing a few snaps to mark the occasion. This luncheon wouldn’t have been possible without the collective effort of so many dedicated individuals. It takes a village, and at Lakeview, we’re so proud of the one we’ve built. Wishing everyone in our community a joyful and peaceful holiday season weekend. #LakeviewInspires #wcsinspires #5StarRestaurant

POSTED: December 13, 2024 Today Mrs. Cooksey brought her choir class around to carol for the teachers and students. She reached out to staff earlier in the week to see who had flexibility in their schedule to welcome the carolers. Mrs. Boggs said her class could hear the kids singing as they made their way down the hall, then they stopped at the door and sang two additional songs. Performing on a stage far removed from the audience is one thing, but today these students sang up close and personal for a group of their peers. What an excellent opportunity for them to grow in their confidence and performance practice! Thank you Mrs. Cooksey! #LakeviewInspires #wcsinspires #CHOIR

POSTED: December 13, 2024 The top three teams from Lakeview in the penny wars were ELA 8, ELA 7, and Math. Our combined score is 427. The seven total Lakeview teams brought in right around $1,500. That amount alone ensures there WILL be a polar plunge next week. The only question is WHO is it going to be?? Let’s just say this, if the WACCYs ever decide to try a new profession, they could be tactical strategists because they know how to play the game. Even the cosmetology students joined the effort to bless our Lakeview families. This was a combined building effort! Yesterday the WACCYs had -17,300 points. With today’s donations, even though Lakeview put $430 of cash in their bucket, the WACCYs soared to 66,746 points. Their week’s donations totaled right around $1,500! Our combined penny war total was over $3,000. We were able to add two more families to our list which means five families from Lakeview’s building will experience Christmas in a whole new way thanks to your giving. That’s pretty awesome. It’s also awesome that next week we’ll see Mr. Braddock and Officer Roberts brave the channel because they are men of integrity and will honor their word. Stay tuned for that exciting event next week! Again, Lakeview and the WACCY students have the biggest hearts and you proved that this week. We are so proud to be tigers! #LakeviewInspires #WACCYWELDERSInspire #wcsinspires #PennyWars
